Bocaire Country Club held their annual Play For Pink golf tournament on Sunday, April 7, 2013 with 108 golfers raising $51,485 for breast cancer research.
The Play for P.I.N.K. (Prevention, Immediate Diagnosis, New technology, Knowledge) organization was founded in 1990, and began holding golf tournaments in the Northeast to create awareness and raise funds to support cancer research. Bocaire golfers enjoyed a beautiful day on the 18 hole, Joe Lee designed course and a little friendly competition with contests including a hole‐in‐one, straightest drive and closest to the hole on each par 4. The highly supported event was followed by a wonderful dinner in the clubhouse with a live auction.
Since 2001, Bocaire Country Club has raised $537,565 towards Play for Pink’s overall donation of more than $29 Million to The Breast Cancer Research Fund. To date, Play for Pink funds 15 different research programs and has grown to more than 140 clubs across the country in 23 states with an estimated 15,000 participants annually.
