Tyler Segal, the four-year high school MVP of West Boca Community High School, and now a junior at University of Florida, calls Bocaire Country Club his home course.
Tyler, who has been the top golfer on the UF Club Golf team since his freshman year, attributes his ability to practice his golf at the “no tee times” home course of Bocaire Country Club, as part of his success. He loves being able jump out on the course without having to make a tee time whenever he is home. After his work at a financial firm in the summer, he can play 9 holes or more with ease.
Last season, Tyler was crowned the Bocaire Country Club champion, where he shot under par. He feels the course is great for all levels, and he is looking forward to the course “overhaul” that is planned to take place next year.
Led by Tyler, the UF Club Golf team is one of the best club teams in the nation, with college golfers all capable of shooting par or below. They travel to compete against other schools throughout the state of Florida. In fact, Tyler oversees organizing each tournament from start to finish. This includes booking the event, setting up the tee times and yardages, and overall operations. Tyler is looking forward to being home for the summer and enjoy Bocaire Country Club and our gorgeous South Florida weather.
